about us

OUR FAMILY FARM
Shady Brook Dairy Goats came to existence in 2018 as our family moved away from the city and began our journey into small scale farming. When we purchased our farm, the landscape was bare and the soil quality was less than desirable.
One step at a time, we have used nature as our guide, planting trees and gardens, building compost piles, fencing and animal shelters, and creating polyculture environments with our gardens and poultry (chickens, ducks and turkeys). This is an ongoing process that will take many years.
While our main focus is raising dairy goats for milk products, our farm is all encompassing as our goal is to become self-sufficient and sustainable.
We currently have Angus/Simmental cattle, a variety of chickens and ducks, as well as our Great Pyrenees Livestock Guardian Dogs. Our elderly dogs Oliver, who is a Miniature Schnauzer and his best friend Rocky are retired house pets that supervise their humans.
